Hiking (Gunung Ledang 30/06/2012) - 1st

Expedition this time is under Ex-UIA group, heheh menumpang je. The only person I know is Laila my colleague but it doesn’t matter. The most important thing is to have fun, and to keep my life better yeah!. So as usual preparation must be done for both physically and mentally at least 2-3 weeks before hiking. The preparation is not much but bolehlah dari tak buat ape-ape langsung kan.

Preparation (Increased Stamina)

  1. Going to Gym at least once a week ( heheh kalo hari2 kopak ah poket RM8/entry)
  2. Jogging at least twice per week for 1 hour (5 – 6 rounds) if x larat, just walk.
  3. Eat healthy food, more plain water, vegetable, fruit, fish and milk

Preparation (Reduce nervousness)

  1. If you have experience in hiking, remember the feeling when you are on top of mountain. What you feel?? Of course 100% satisfactory with a great view and cold breeze. Sure it will make you forgot the pain ;)
  2. If not visit other blogs. If you are female, try to find the same gender blog. Why?? Because stamina between male and female would be different. We cannot compare apple with pineapple!
  3. Search information as much as possible about the nature of the mountain e.g route, height, distance to reach the top, hiker’s stories etc. This will help you reduce your shock when you arrived there.
  4. Aim not just to reached the top, add another objective such as to capture photos of a unique tree, beautiful flower ke? View ke anything lah yang suka. Definitely will increase your eagerness to hiking.
  5. If you are afraid of height or leach. Try this method, for “height fobia” go to your relatives condo or apartment and do the laundry work, sambil sidai baju, look below for 1, 5 minutes……. As long as you can lah. Lagi tinggi lagi bagus. For the “Leach Fobia” to reduce horridness don’t forgot to bring insect repellent, wear a pant with tight ankle sleeve (or you tied in the sleeve in your long socks).
Support equiment: head light (AAA batteries), qiblat compass, disposable rain coat, hiking stick, gloves
First Aid Kit: Ankle guard, knee guard, yoko2,insect reppellent, bandage, panadol, hand-plaster
